Post Christmas Blues

Just like that Christmas is over.  The all-Christmas-music station still played throughout boxing day and the very next morning it was back to normal music; playing one of Nelly Furtado's mainstream songs.  It was a bit of a slap to the face of my fiance and I.  We go through this every year - Post Christmas Blues.

It was a great Christmas though.  We had both families under one roof and it was so much fun.  I have never seen so much food for the amount of people that was in our house.  At the end of the night it was hilarious playing Tetris with my fridge for all the leftovers the family decided to leave us.  We are still trying to consume all of it until this day.  I'm trying to be creative on the type of meals I make because I really don't want to waste it all.  So far the turkey macaroni soup is a favourite with my fiance.  I guess the rest will be lunch for when he goes back to work.

The gifts were fun too.  Everyone grabbed all their gifts and designated themselves to a spot in the room with piles of gifts in front of them.  All you heard were screams of joy and ripped paper.  We all got some really cute stuff.  One of the best gifts for me was a gift I had to open before everyone came over.  My fiance decided to get something that I have been wanting for YEARS - the KITCHEN AID STAND-UP MIXER in CHERRY RED!!!!!!!  Oh my ... It was like seeing my engagement ring for the first time hahaha.  I opened it up and used it right away, baking over a dozen cupcakes for that night's Christmas dinner.  I am in love with it and already named her "Cherry".  My love for baking has been re-awakened!!  He is going to be sorry when I make non-stop baking goodies hahaha.  It's going to be very hard to resist my cookies and cupcakes and cakes while he's on his strict clean diet (muahahaha).  He was already laughing nervously as I was baking my muffin-top cookies last night LOL.  This is what happens when you give me my dream stand-up mixer!!!!!  You knew what you were getting yourself into!

What's next?  I guess New Years!  It's only a few days away!  It's crazy how fast time is going.  It's going to be 2013 soon!  I still don't know what our plans are for the new year.  I know my mom is cooking some good dinner so we might see my family early in the night then head over to his family's place for the actual new year countdown.  So much food again.  My goodness!  I might have to make some time during the next year to workout and burn off all the food!!

So if I don't blog before New Years, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!
